I expected this to just be a quirky movie about a guy with some issues who takes it upon himself to battle against the evil "Captain Industry". I didn't think it looked great, just an indy movie where I'd get a couple cheap laughs as Woody Harrelson cheesed upa goofy character who thinks he's a super hero.
And to my amazement, this wasn't that at all.
Much darker in tone than I expected, this movie takes itself pretty seriously. The motivations of Defendor and the actual feel of the entire movie has a lot more weight to it than what any of the trailers I had seen let on. Damaged characters well acted by an excellent cast, a few nods to the super hero genre, and a really solid story.
Give it a shot.
